Beautiful Kate Is also Scream Queen
10 October, 2006
This year's edition of the Scream Awards, that celebrates the entry of horror, sci-fi, fantasy and comic books into Hollywood, just announced its big winners, in a ceremony that took place at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood, on October 7th. The gala will also be broadcast by its organizers on Tuesday, October 10th on Spike TV.
The queen of the entire ceremony was, by far, the beautiful Kate Beckinsale, who was crowned 'Scream Queen' for 2006 for her part as the warrior vampire Selene in 'Underworld: Evolution'. The next best thing to the British actress was Jessica Alba, who was offered the 'Sexiest Superhero' award for her part as Sue Storm or the Invisible Woman in 'The Fantastic Four'.
These two are among the few individual prizes that the cable channel Spike TV sets up each year. In the male category, Brandon Routh was the sole winner, taking home the 'Best Superhero' award for his part as Superman in 'Superman Returns'.
The movies that got the most recognition (in terms of black statuettes) were 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest', which won three awards ('Most Anticipated Movie', 'Best Sequel', 'Best Fantasy Movie') and its main rival, 'Superman Returns' ('Best Screamplay', 'The Ultimate Scream', 'Best Director').
