'Law & Order' Draws Inspiration from the 'Mad Mel' Incident
27 September, 2006
Just as real events are turned into movies, so do criminal series inspire themselves from the lives of celebrities, involved in brush-offs with the law. The 'Law & Order' creator, Dick Wolf, is the first to try and boost up the audience ratings, by taking the whole 'Mad Mel' bust and turning it into a brand new episode for his show. While actor/director Mel Gibson is presently all over America promoting his latest movie 'Apocalypto', comedian Chevy Chase is preparing to step into his shoes as the drunken celebrity that gets busted and makes anti-Semitic remarks at the officers. But the series creator plans taking things even further than merely making the main character say offensive things to the police officers who perform the arrest. After a careful investigation of the vehicle and of the clothes that Chase's character is wearing, the detectives find traces of blood.
The episode is called 'In Vino Veritas' and shooting for it already began since Monday. It has been slated to air on Friday, November 3rd, at 10.00 P.M. http://news.softpedia.com/news/039-Law-Order-039-Draws-Inspiration-from-the-039-Mad-Mel-039-Incident-36576.shtml Posted by admin at 09:24 PM | View: (180)
