German Director Takes His Critics with Two Drops of Blood
26 September, 2006
Uwe Boll, a second-rate German filmmaker, with a history of turning video games into bad movies with B-list actors has decided to give critics a share of their own medicine... in the boxing ring. Basically, upset that his horror flicks get only negative reviews, the director invited the critics from Rue Morgue, Ain't It Cool News and somethingawful.com to fight him in the ring. Fifteen of Boll's most bitter critics rose up to the challenge and responded to the announcement but they all found out that the fights were not just a PR stunt, but real ones, in which real (and painful) punches were thrown. Boll even offered to train his adversaries before the match, at the same time assuring them that they would not be boxing for real. This was the deception from which everything started because, his opponents said, had they known that they would be taking numerous punches to the head and stomach for real; they wouldn't have agreed to go through with it.
Chris Alexander of Rue Morgue saw what happened to the others and had a not so pleasant surprise for the director with obvious violent tendencies: he used a bag with fake blood just to scare the living soul out of Boll. 'I freaked him out exactly like I wanted to, it was poetry', the critic said right after the confrontation. He then added that, although he did go down early, he still got the chance to punch the director once for every bad movie he ever made. Now, the only thing remaining to be seen is whether other movie critics will venture to go where others have gone before: into the boxing ring with Uwe Boll. Because the invitation is still open... http://news.softpedia.com/news/German-Director-Beats-the-Crap-Out-of-Film-Critics-36448.shtml Posted by admin at 09:53 PM | View: (195)
